Society News from April 2016

In the light of the further measures announced yesterday to deal with the virus, all of us have a role to play in trying to lessen the impacts of the pandemic. Last week we cancelled the AGM until later in the year, and we have now recommended that Indoor Meetings and Field Trips should be postponed for the foreseeable future. Whilst we do not want to have a situation of overkill, we do think that prudent actions we take today will help to keep people safe and healthy now and in the weeks and months to come.

On Thursday morning 21st April come and join the Plymouth group to search for many newly arrived migrant birds, and some attractive residents, in the National Nature Reserve of Yarner Wood near Bovey Tracey. We shall be meeting at 10:00 a.m. at Trendlebere Down, a third of a mile past the entrance to Yarner Wood (SX783795), warm clothing and binoculars recommended and bring a packed lunch.

Liz Harris cannot make this meeting and so Doug Herdson is coordinating car sharing. If you can offer a lift or would like one please contact Doug on Monday 18th or Tuesday 19th on 01752 405155 or Doug Herdson stating where you will be travelling from.
