Bird SightingsSubmit a Blog Post

We welcome contributions for the Devon Bird Sightings blog from Devon Birds members and the general public. If you have something you would like to post on the blog – an unusual bird sighting, for example – please use the form on the right to submit it.

All posts from the public will be checked by a moderator and approved if suitable before appearing on the Devon Bird News blog. We cannot guarantee to approve all posts and will edit or delete as necessary.

Notes on the Form

  • Items on the form marked in bold text are required, others are optional.
  • Suggestions will appear as you type in the Caption boxes – simply click the appropriate bird species to ensure the correct spelling and capitalisation.
  • The anti-spam question is chosen randomly and will change each time you fill in the form.

Posting Guidelines

  • Please do not post news relating to birds that could be harmed by the unscrupulous – vulnerable birds of prey, rare breeders, etc. It’s not rocket science. Please refer to our Rare Breeding Species & Winter Raptor Roosts page for guidance.
  • Kindly keep posts brief and to the point, so that visitors don’t have to wade through reams of prose to find the news!
  • Please include the location where it says Title – e.g. Seaton Marshes, Dawlish Warren, etc.
  • Please do upload photos if you have any, making sure they no more than 1,000 pixels wide or high, maximum 1MB each, in JPEG format. Resize or convert before attaching.
  • Feel free to post sightings of interesting wildlife other than birds.
