Hummingbird Hawkmoth still active in Braunton

On the valerian flowers in St Brannocks churchyard on the wall by the Caen River we found this Hummingbird Hawkmoth feeding  mainly on the red flowers not the pink. Saw it fly off at speed after feeding for a few minutes but luckily saw where it landed high in a nearby tree hence the at rest image.

Braunton Burrows

Focusing on Dragonflies, currently a lot of aerial mating activity going on which from a photographic point of view is particulary challenging!

However, managed at last to pin down a mating pair of Common Darters.
