DEVON BIRDS BRANCH MEETINGS AND FIELD TRIPS - UPDATE

At a recent Council Meeting it was agreed that Field Trips (Guided Walks) and Indoor Meetings could restart as soon as Branches were happy to proceed, with all necessary Covid safe precautions in place. 

Full details are now on the website.

Taw & Torridge Branch will not be re-starting Indoor or Outdoor Meetings before January 2022.

Middle Soar

First Grayling on lower slopes plus 32 Dark Green Fritillary.

Fox cub in area plus very dark adult.

Clennon Valley ponds, Torbay

A good range of dragonflies on the ponds, with Blue tailed and Azure damsels, Emperor, Black tailed skimmer, Broad bodied chaser and best of all, a Scarce chaser on territory at the top of the third pond from the bottom.

Torcross.

Among last night's moths ,a Cypress Carpet. An uncommon  resident and immigrant moth in Southern England. First recorded in Britain in1984 in Sussex  with the first Devon record in 1999 at Dawlish.
