Around Topsham

Bar-tailed Godwits Black-tailed Godwit Greenfinch with lunch

Early morning viewing from BGM hide slightly difficult due to bright sunlight and mist, but still enjoyable. Hide was very busy. All the usual birdlife, including a Curlew Sandpiper and a Snipe. On the path down to the viewing platform plenty of Goldfinch and Greenfinch, of interest from the platform 3 Sandwich Terns, 7 Greenshank, 1 Common Sandpiper. 1 Peregrine overhead. Walking back through Topsham I spotted two Bar-tailed Godwits feeding with a Black-tailed Godwit. Also the Black Swan present close to the Goatwalk, giving the Mute Swans grief. Still plenty of Red Admirals and Southern Hawkers bombing around.
