Anchor Wood Bank

Walked a little way up the Tarka trail late morning. No sign of the Grey Phalarope. Most of the Godwits seemed to be Bar-tailed today. On a sandbank was a good sized flock of Dunlin, with a few Sanderling, 3 Knot, and a few Curlew. Nearer the new bridge, a Common Sandpiper.

Also present out on the sandbank was a Black-headed gull with a metal ring on it's right leg and a yellow ring on it's left - all I could make out was the first letter (black) was probably N. It stood in the water so I couldn't get any other details, then it was quite mobile.....

Lowell recently sent me a text saying the Phalarope is back.....
