Exe Powderham to Turf
This stretch of the Exe WeBS count was almost birdless today. Highlights were 10 little egrets feeding in a group and 2 common sandpipers. The sea wall was more productive with 2 wheatear, 1 reed bunting and small flocks of linnet, greenfinch and goldfinch. Overhead a steady stream of house martins south. On the marshes - 3+ blackcap, c20 chiffchaff and one reed warbler
Yesterday (Saturday) osprey over marshes towards motorway at 13.00.
