Bowling green marsh and goosemoor

Watched from 16:00 till 19:15

started at the hide counting the ducks with 605+ teal , 37+ pintail, 59+ wigeon, 142+ mallard, I was just passing time waiting for the waders to come in when just after 17:30 3 greenshank dropped in a another smaller bird flew in  as well on the far side from the hide just got my scope on the waded as it flew out towards goosemoore I only had a second maybe 2 on the bird but my gut reaction was juv LESSER YELLOWLEGS, a quick run to goosemoor but no sign of the bird just lots of greenshank and 3 smart juv ruff so I thought I would pop back to the hide at bowling green marsh and hope it would come back to confirm my id . On the walk back to the hide an osprey flew over heading over topsham.

Back at the hide and just as I put my scope up the bird came in far side behind the redshank and yes a juv LESSER YELLOWLEGS wow it flew to the left of the marsh showing a bit better the fine black bill long yellow legs such a dainty bird it then flew to goosemmor  again another run and some quick phone calls saw me back looking for the bird this time it was there and it showed very well giving good views to those who made it down ( photos to follow) it eventually flew to Bowling green marsh calling loudly as it flew over I headed home but had a call to say it had been relocated on bowling green marsh from the hide before it got dark.

A fantastic 3 hours around the marsh
