Topsham Recreation Ground

A lunchtime visit at low tide produced very few birds, but watched a Sparrowhawk for a good ten minutes.  It was perched on a traffic cone in the mud looking quite disheveled I thought it may have been ill or injured.  But no, it flew directly towards me low over the water.  Two Kingfishers burst out of the reeds with the Sparrowhawk in hot pursuit, then were lost to view.  One Kingfisher flew back up river a few minutes later to disappear beyond the motorway bridge.
