Braunton

I notice that  once again on the day of the WeBS count, the Common Crane has been seen today! That's at least 3 months it's been there, hiding away in the network of fields south of the Marsh Road. Oddly I was on that very road at about the time it was seen looking vaguely in the direction of where I saw it a couple of months ago, but a tractor and sheepdog were at work...

Wrafton Pond again had Tufted Duck and 3 Wigeon this afternoon. Sherpa had over 200 Canada Geese, still 24 Swans, 2 Little Egrets, and even a few Swallows. A Common Sandpiper was in Velator harbour. A few Meadow Pipits have also arrived in the fields.
