Exe Estuary - Turf

WeBS count this morning started at 8.25. Along the sea-wall 3 wheatears and one, possibly two, whinchats with c10 alba wagtails.

About 150 black-tailed godwits and a similar number of curlew. Only other waders were 40 oystercatchers, one bar-tailed godwit and a single turnstone and all the waders were pushed off by the rapidly rising tide. On the estuary 4 comic terns (all juvs and probably common terns). 17 little egrets feeding on Greenland Bank was an impressive sight.
