Tony Taylor sent this update from his week on Lundy from 6-13 September, during which his main focus was to ring Manx Shearwaters. He and Richard Taylor caught 145 chicks, bringing the year's total to 251 following David Price's earlier visit. With adults added in, the total of ringed birds for 2012 is 100 up on the previous record.

Other highlights were an Ortolan Bunting in Millcombe on 7th, a Great Spotted Woodpecker from 9th to 12th and
an elusive Melodious Warbler in Millcombe on 7th, then caught and ringed there on 13th. A Short-toed Lark gave excellent views on the evening of 12th as it fed along the tracks.
