River Caen

The highlight of an evening walk (17.15–19.00 hrs) out along the River Caen was an amazing number of Mediterranean Gulls: 30+, all adult winter birds with 1 immature.  Most were in the pill mixed in with Black-headed Gulls until they were all flushed and flew to settle on Braunton Marshes.  Then what I took at first to be a flock of white doves flying towards the barn on Sherpa Marsh turned out to be a further 15 Med Gulls, which joined the flock in the fields.
