Lyme Bay boat trip from Brixham

Apart from the bonxie, todays skuas presented some interesting id/ageing puzzles.  All three were immatures, the first an arctic skua followed by 2 pomarine skuas, the first of which had spoons. Sadly the pomarine with spoons had something (plastic?) caught on its leg.

Bird 1; Arctic Skua, 2nd S. Bird 2; Pomarine skua, 2nd S. Bird 3; Pomarine skua, 1st or 2nd S.

Eds -  great photos Chris and captions, the last bird is a 2nd Summer - a 1st summer would be in active wing moult and more like a juv in body plumage.
