East Soar

Early morning walk, 6-8am before work worthwhile around East Soar Farm and Starehole. After a clear night lots of migrants in the bushes: 60 Willow Warblers, 20 Chiff-Chaff, 40 Whitethroat, 12 Sedge Warbler, 4 Tree Pipits, 6 Wheatear, Garden Warbler and a Whinchat. No time to cover East Soar Cove area so totals would be higher. A good drop-in of migrants on Portland today also. Shows that we dont need morning rain or mist to get good numbers this time of year, but they do disperse quickly in the warm sunny weather.
