Prawle Point

A shorter seawatch today from 7 to 9am. Conditions similar to yesterday at first ( ie heavy rain ) but soon brightening .In that time I saw : 4 Balearic and 167 Manx Shearwaters all west and 23 Manx east ; 1 Puffin, 77 Common Scoter west and a 1st year Med. Gull. Around the NT car park a few warblers : 1st year female Blackcaps (pretending to be Garden Warblers) , Whitethroats and 2 yellowy Willow Warblers . Also a Chiffchaff which started to sing in the sunshine.

Butterfly-wise several Wall Browns as well as Gatekeeper, Meadow Browns and male Common Blues, with Large Whites more numerous than smaller species.
