Around the Axe

All I did today was twitch the Black Hole Marsh Black Tern (a pale juv) at about 09:15. Very soon after my arrival it flew off north.

Many local birders were out today - in fact all of them (PA, GMH, KH, IMc, TW, SS, IW et al) and between them notched up the following:

Beer Head; 20 Wheatear, 9 Yellow Wagtail, 7 Tree Pipit, 2 Spotted Flycatcher and singles of Golden Plover, Whinchat, Redstart, Lesser Whitethroat and Whitethroat.

Black Hole Marsh; 10 Curlew Sandpiper, 2 Little Stint, 1 Wood Sandpiper, 1 Turnstone, 1 Black Tern and 1 Osprey.
