Tern fest continues.

The spectacle of large numbers of Common Tern on the falling tide at the Skern, Northam Burrows continues.Just after high tide they come into the estuary, and preen on the saltings.

This evening there were around 600 Common Tern, and among them 3 Little Tern (inc 1 Juv), 2 Arctic Tern, and 18 Black Tern, of which 2 were still in summer plumage.

Wader numbers remain small with 5 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Turnstone, 1 Knot and 2 Whimbrel.
