Avon Dam at dawn

Although two-a-penny on most estuaries, even in July, Redshank is not even annual on Dartmoor or elsewhere inland in Devon. Thus an adult at the Avon Dam early this morning was a great surprise and a new species for both site and parish. Also present, one Great Crested Grebe, but no other water birds..
