Exminster marshes

The marshes remain very dry with almost no water even in the lagoon. Today felt like autumn with a flock of warblers and tits foraging alongside the railway line. Amongst the flock were blackcaps, lesser whitethroats, long-tailed tits and plenty of chiffchaffs. Also seen nearby reed warblers and willow warblers.

A few whimbrel flew over the estuary and at least one common sandpiper flew from the lagoon onto the estuary. A single yellow wagtail was calling amongst a herd of cows near the Lions Rest estate.
