Prawle Point

Seawatch from 6.30am till 11am in south-west 3-4, dropping to 3,with at times heavy rain and mist, produced another interesting range of birds flying mainly west.

52 Balearic shearwaters ( though likely to have been more passing); 776 Manxies, 222 Gannets, 1 Bonxie, 1 Puffin, 2 Whimbrel , 7 Common Terns (latter mixing in with Manxie feeding frenzy at c 7am) and the now regular Med Gull east. But star bird ? A Great Crested Grebe which flew west at 8.45 am. Only my second or third seen here (must check my old records)
