Berry Head/Ideford Common/Emsworthy Mire

Report of 3 sites over last two days whilst taking a visiting friend to add to his year list.

Berry Head; whitethroats, large numbers of Guillemots and Kittiwakes plus Razorbills, Fulmar and Gannets.

Ideford Common; Several Nightjars seen flying some churring in the undergrowth very close to the road adjacent to the common, be prepared for a lot of biting midges.

Emsworthy; Excellent views of cuckoos flying in pairs around the fields to the left after the gates some calling but not for long at least 6 seen. As well as large numbers of Jackdaws and Rooks there were large numbers of Herring Gulls circling and in the fields is this flying ants seems a bit early.
