Rillage Point

06.25–08.00 Almost still; sea smooth. 1,663 Manx Shearwaters all flying W, relatively close inshore in flocks of up to 100 strong. My assumption is that these are birds that have been feeding further up the Bristol Channel and flying back out to sea. Also my first returning adult Mediterranean Gull of the season, an adult in breeding plumage flying W. One singing Lesser Whitethroat.
