On returning from a trip to see Large Blue butterflies (perfect conditions but only one seen by 2pm !) I went to try my luck with the Lesser Whitethroat sp. in the Aller Brook local nature reserve adjacent to the Brunel Industrial estate. Arrived at 4pm and could hear snatches of song but singing more regularly from 4.30pm when it popped briefly into view on a bush by the bend in the path as described. Song interesting . Final notes of main song sound like Eebee Geebee. Briefly recorded on my phone. It was moving back and forth along the path and no song/calls from 5.15 to 6pm.
