The DWT reserve at Heathfield was simply buzzing with Nightjar's last evening (29th May), they were on the wing by 8.54pm, in broad daylight and it was still reasonably light when I left an hour later, having seen at least seven birds, on several occasions two males chasing and displaying to a female.

I have never seen Nightjar's so active in such lighting condition's, I can only assume that they came out early as it was a very dull and totally overcast evening.

On arrival a flock of 16 Pied Wagtails.
