Chudleigh Knighton/Finlake

A very pleasant walk this morning for my first Breeding Bird Survey transect. The highlight was a Lesser Whitethroat singing from a thick hedge - only my second there, following the first during the first BBS year in 1994: 25 years ago! Whitethroat and Yellowhammer are still hanging on, the latter seemingly benefitting from the change from agriculture to 'horsiculture' ... I think the buntings must steal oats from horses!
