On the moor above Owley near South Brent this morning my first Cuckoo’s of the season with a female seen and while watching her two males calling further out onto the moors, a little later one of the calling birds showing but very flighty and not settling. Also seen a pair of Redpoll, Meadow Pipits, Skylarks, male Stonechat, Mistle Thrush, several pairs of Yellow Hammer, three Buzzards and two Raven.

On the way home two Song Thrush by Owley.

An afternoon visit onto the moors from Dockwell farm gave Grey Wagtail, a White Wagtail with a recently fledged chick, four Cuckoo, Sky Larks, Linnets, Whitethroat, Willow Warblers, male Kestrel, Raven, Buzzard

Back home ~ four Siskin and a male Reed Bunting on the garden feeders, two Sparrow Hawk sightings and four Buzzards soaring overhead.
