Exeminster ~ BGM ~ Yarner/Trendlebere & South Hams

An early morning visit to Bowling Green Marsh gave good views of four of the reported Ruff, 60+ Black and Bar Tailed Godwits, Whimbrel, Curlew, Oyster Catcher, 32 Dunlin, Black Headed Gulls, Swallows, Chiffchaff singing, 31 Shellduck, Canadian Geese, Mallard a Fox along the left hand hedge from the hide and four Rabbits.

Exminster Marsh ~ 2 Whitethroat, numerous Sedge Warblers, Cetti’s Warbler, Reed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Wren, Swallows, Sandwich Tern up and down the canal, Heron, Little Egret, a flock of 20 Oyster Catchers flew into the marsh.

Yarner and Trendlebere Down ~ Male Yellow Hammer, Tree Pipit, a pair of Stonechat both carrying food, male Linnet in full summer plumage, Pied Flycatcher, a very brief glimpse of a Redstart, 2 Greater Spotted Woodpeckers, at least 3 Wood Warblers a first for me.

Dart Bridge , Buckfastleigh ~ Green Woodpecker and Chiffchaff singing.

Back home at South Brent ~ Siskin and Reed Buntings on the garden feeders, a pair of Mistle Thrush driving off a very persistent Sparrow Hawk which later flew past carrying a prey item ,3 Buzzards and a pair of Swift mating in full flight.
