Beesands Ley

Standard WeBS count on the ley this morning, nothing out of the ordinary. There was an anonymous entry in the log book however mentioning an unusual white heron with orange underparts seen in flight late yesterday afternoon. Thinking it sounded good for a Squacco Heron i counted the wildfowl and had a good look around the ley. Pleased to find a Squacco Heron in beautiful breeding plumage on the ley shore inland of the hide viewable from the meadow by the car park. Still present at 13:30 hrs. I guess this is last weeks Prawle bird and probably the same at South Milton midweek ?
