Exminster Marsh

A morning visit and walk around Exminster marsh, Swallow and House Martin readily on view from the RSPB car park while Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler and Willow Warbler could be heard calling.

A count of 53 Reed Warbler heard calling, in places they were positioned just about every 25 yards, 15 plus Sedge Warbler, with Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler calling around the marsh.

Eventually a swift appeared the first of about 15 seen, good numbers of Sand Martin as well.

Small numbers of Reed Bunting and Linnet seen with a couple of Cetti's Warbler calling.

Both the reported Snow Geese were on view with one close to the path in company with Canada Geese, a handful of very active Lapwing. About 40 Whimbrel flew over and dropped into a field alongside the Red Lion industrial units.
