Golden Oriole Male, Blaxton Meadow 18th April

Male Golden Oriole seen by Peter Temple and one other birder late this morning. Perched in tree above wooden seat then flew to top of trees above the hide on other side on Blaxton Meadow lagoon. They were unable to pick it up again.

Eds: An exceptional record; there are no more than two previous records for Plymouth, both close to the boundary, and it's quite early for Devon as a whole. Would the observers please ensure they submit a description to the county recorder so that the record is not lost. Thanks.
