Yarner Woods

East Devon Branch of DB met this morning with 14 members present. Pied Flycatchers and Redstarts present from the start with Tree Pipit, Stonechat, Blackcap, and Yellow Hammer also quickly found.  Willow Warblers in song in the background and Treecreeper and Gt spotted Woodpecker put in brief appearances. Siskins overhead in small numbers. A single Wood Warbler gave close views and song with others heard.  3 drake Mandarin Ducks present on the ponds.  Small numbers of House Martin were overhead at Trendlebere Down plus a single Swift.  We missed a Hobby that was seen by the Plymouth Group of the RSPB (as we were facing the wrong way as they walked towards us) but thanks to them for locating the Green Woodpecker dropping!
