Bowling green marsh

Watched from 15:00 till 19:20

From the viewing platform 175+ pale bellied brent geese flew up estuary before settling of riversmeet house with 2 dark bellied brent geese in with them 850+ dunlin, 34+ grey plover, 25+ whimbrel, 15+ knot, 16+ greenshanks, 50+ bar tailed godwits

from the hide, 3 ruff still, 2 Mediterranean gulls both 1st winter, 6 common gulls , 20+ black headed gulls, 8+ ringed plover over going high north

Around the marsh, 1 swift through my first of the year, 3 house Martin, 60+ sand Martin, 20+ swallows, 2 buzzards, 1 sparrowhawk, 5 Cetti's warblers, 6+ blackcap, 8+ chiffchaff, 6+ song thrush and 2 mistle thrush, 12+ reed warblers, 5+ sedge warblers

Also in evidence was continued movement of dunlin heading high north over the marsh at least 5 groups seen involving 250+ birds
