Wembury

Interesting article in Devon Birds which arrived in the post yesterday about waders at Wembury confirming my observations over the years of fewer waders and more disturbance along the beach - today was a case in point with 2 dunlin on the beach at high tide before being flushed by dog walkers and flying off east and 6 whimbrel on the rocks being constantly flushed by dog walkers before finally settling further out on the rocks as the tide receeded.

My first songflighting whitethroat of the year was a nice find at Wembury Point. Also seen were 2 swallows over, 6 shelduck, singing chiffchaffs and blackcaps, a red admiral and a nice male white wagtail.
