Bowling green marsh

A now rare visit to bowling green marsh was rewarded with the immature / female marsh harrier ( looked very much like the one which has been around exminster marsh this winter) between 17:30 and 18:30 hunting over the marsh before flying of over goosemoor.

the rest of the evening saw an impressive build up of Sand martins with a conservative estimate of 3000+ the sky and marsh was alive and finally just after 19:30 a group of 12+ swallow dropped in , 3 common sandpiper , 52+ knot , 70+ Dunlin , 130+ redshank, 80+ black tailed godwits , 3 whimbrel, 2 gadwall, 8+ tufted duck, 30+ teal, 35+ shoveler, 18+ shelduck, 15+ wigeon, 2 Cetti's warbler, 5 chiffchaff, 2 blackcap, 1 kingfisher, 2 nuthatch, 7+ little egret, 4+ buzzard.
