(Dartmoor) Dockwell South Brent

Towards Dockwell on Dartmoor above South Brent today three Yellow Hammers, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warblers, 1 Whitethroat, 2 Nuthatch

3 Mallard, Wood pigeon on nest with two eggs, 1 Greater Black Backed Gull, Sparrow hawk carrying what looked like a Blackbird in its talons, handful of Linnets, single Snipe flushed, 3 Jays, Skylarks not as plentiful as last weeks visit, Wren, 2 Stock Dove, Song Thrush

The reported Redstart now seen by two other local birders remains elusive, and the movement of Swallow and House Martin from a week ago seems tohave dried up with only a couple of Swallows being seen but just on 30 identified species made for an enjoyable if rather chilly morning.
