Bowling green marsh & exminster marsh

Started at bowling green marsh 07:00 till 10:00

a steady passage of sand martins and swallows with a couple of house martins, the 2 spotted redshanks were a bit distant, 24+ greenshanks, at least 29+ whimbrel of which 8 flew north after a brief stop, 17+ bar tailed godwits, 220+ black tailed godwits, 50+ curlew, 2 gadwall, 1 pochard, 1 tufted duck, 3 reed warblers, 2 reed buntings, 1 whitethroat , 4+ blackcaps , 3 song thrush, 5+ little egrets. 

exminster marsh 11:15 till 13:30

my first swift of the year was a good find with steady passage of sand martins and swallows, 4+ sedge warblers, the female garganey was still by the fishermans car park but elusive, 1 willow warbler, 6+ sandwich terns were on the estuary from the viewing platform looking across to the goatwalk at topsham.
