Exminster Marshes

Morning visit between 9.00 and 10.30 around the southern part of the marsh. Lots of bird song including lesser whitethroat (1), blackcap (4+), willow warbler (2), reed warbler (2), sedge warbler (3+), chiffchaff (2) and Cettis. One chiffchaff was carrying nest material.

On a wet flash in the middle of the marsh viewing from the railway path was a flock of 11 ringed plovers, including one that looked smaller but the distance prevented confirming the id. Elsewhere one greenshank. Duck numbers low, 6 tufted duck and 4 teal, apart from c30 shelduck.
