Migrants were thin on the ground at Berry Head early this morning and later at Prawle, just a couple of Wheatear, a handfull of Willow Warbler and a trickle of Swallows. I was therefore suprised to find my first Common Whitethroat of the spring in a hawthorn bush at the back of the toilets at Broadsands beach during a 'visit' late afternoon.
