Tamar Lakes.

Upper and Lower Tamar Lakes.

On a visit to Tamar Lakes this morning:-

220+ Sand Martins, 40+ Swallows, 15 House Martins, a probable Hoopoe (call only), spent ages search the fields adjacent to Lower Tamar for it, but despite frequent calling, couldn't locate the bird.  I'm familiar with the call from hearing many in Spain.     Female Mallard with 10 very small ducklings, 3 Tufted Ducks, 3 Cormorants, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 14 Willow Warblers, 6 Chiffchaffs, 4+ Blackcaps, 2 Garden Warblers, Blue and Great Tits, Wren, 3 Greenfinches, many Chaffinches, 1 Song Thrush, Blackbirds, 2 Collared Doves, 1 Magpie and a small rookery with (so far) 8 nests.
