Skern and Southcott Valley.

Skern 07:30 - 10:00

17 Bar-tailed Godwits; 1 Dunlin; 10 Shelduck; c50 Ringed Plover. Sandwich Tern 1; Common Tern 2; 2 Wheatear and 1 glorious male Yellow Wagtail. Also 100s of Swallows and Sand Martins and just a few House Martins over the Tip Pond. Too many White Wagtails to count. They were everywhere!

Several of us birders witnessed an uncontrolled dog, attack and kill a good sized lamb. It`s owner took the attitude that it was on "open land" after all! She would have left the scene but was stopped and Police were called but no one was satisfied in how they dealt with it.

Southcott Valley 10:20.

8 Lesser black-backed Gulls; c30 Common Gulls; 1 Black-tailed Godwit; 1 Little Egret; 1 Grey Heron and several herring Gull and Black-headed Gulls. No sign of Yellow-legged Gull.
