Stover Country Park
Report from Jon Avon of a diverse mix today at Stover.
On Stover Lake: 2 pairs Great Crested Grebe, 2 prs Coot nest building, 3 cormorant 10 tufted duck, 1 male Scaup, 1 common tern, water rail, snipe, 2 LBBGulls, herring gulls and 20 black headed gulls – mostly immatures – in most years these are rarely seen after 20th March. 4 buzzards, several chiffchaffs and 1st willow warbler song – despite being recorded daily since Sunday 7th, several swallows, sand martin ,blackcap ,4 marsh tit, 16+siskin, pair bullfinch, 2 prs green woodpecker and 3 pairs of great spotted woodpecker.
