Berry Head - Today (30th) & Yesterday (29th)

Hardly any sign of migration except a single Swallow in off the sea yesterday.

More interesting were the 3 Wall butterflies right on the edge of the head today - about a month early and possibly a first national sighting this year (pic below). All 3 were males (thick horizontal scent brands on forwings) &, when they weren't basking on the rocks, 2 - 3 of them were sparring in the air over territory.

Also of interest, 6 Barrel Jellyfish today & 1 yesterday.

There was also an apparently suicididal Pheasant on a ledge today but I managed to talk him down! (pic below)
