Only a couple of hundred meters from home spotted movement on the edge of a small pool no more than 4m diameter, from what I saw I was sure it was a Water Rail, came back a little later and through the trees I could see it feeding, managed to manually focus to get an image.  A few weeks back during the cold spell even had a male Ruff in the same vicinity, surprising what pops up close to home.
