Charleton Parish-Avocet and Chiffchaffs

The Avocet seen on Frogmore Creek on the 25th was again present at the same location throughout the morning, actively feeding when the water over the softer mud was shallow but reverting to preening and loafing as the tide rose leaving only a coarser foreshore.

Today there was in increase in Chiffchaff numbers around East Charleton since the first migrant was noted on the 16th with two or three of the males showing behaviour suggestive of them re-occupying territory that had been occupied during the 2017 breeding season.
