Exminster Marshes

Short visit this afternoon in the rain. A bit gloomy but enlivened by singing chiffchaff, chaffinch and skylark. Good selection of duck; wigeon (c150), teal (c200), shoveller (c100) plus smaller numbers of tufted duck, pintail, mallard and shelduck. Other highlights included a spoonbill, water rail,  2 little egrets and, at last, two sand martins. Few waders as tide low - 3 snipe and 6 curlew. Female peregrine on one of the pylons.
