Broadsands ~ South Brent

An early morning visit to Broadsands, not overly productive, on the sea  ten Great Crested Grebe, one possibly two Black Throated Diver, one Fulmar and two Mallard in flight out over the bay.

In the back car park a small number of Cirl and Reed Bunting, Green finch showing well, a Carrion Crow actively nest building in the back corner of the car parks and a Buzzard overhead.

While watching the Cirl Buntings a very pale "female" Bunting sp landed on the ground very briefly, similar size to the Cirl & Red Bunting but much paler over all with lighter facial markings, but did not stay long enough to identify or allow a photo to be taken.

Near Dartington eight Magpies together.

Back home at South Brent female Yellow Hammer came into the garden feed station, very much a garden rarity around the village, Siskin, Bullfinch, Goldfinch and Nuthatch brightened the day, a high fly over from a female Sparrow Hawk cleared the area of small birds.
