Wrafton

Afternoon visit to the reserve so I checked the scrape at about 2p.m. good numbers of Teal and several pairs of Shoveler. Thena Redshank wandered into view closely followed by a Ruff, which was still there when I checked at about 4.30 but the Redshank had morphed into a Dunlin. Several Snipe feeding in the puddles there too. Far fewer Curlews in the field and only one Lapwing.

In the reserve, the Little Grebe has moulted into summer plumage. Moorhens are displaying. A large flock of Redwings arrived, perhaps to roost. Also saw a Treecreeper.
