Exminster marshes

Early afternoon visit coincided with high water but few waders came onto the marsh, only about 20 curlew. The shelduck flock is increasing with 47 roosting and others still on the estuary. Few other ducks apart from 5 tufted duck on the lagoon.

There was a steady passage of sand martins north and one chiffchaff singing. Three wheatears (all males) were actively feeding near Station Road. About 6 little egrets were being very aggressive to each other.
