Bolt Head

Just off the old WW2 airfields saw a flock of approx 100 small birds on one of the fallow fields, very mobile and difficult to approach in the flat terrain but transpirred to be a mixed flock of Yellow Hammer, Cirl Bunting and Sky Lark, unalb eto ID any other species in the flock.

Sky Larks could be heard singing almost constantly but very difficult to see any in the air.

Also in the area a large flock of mostly juvenile Herring Gulls with one or two Greater Black Backed and Lesser Blacked Backed mixed in as well.
